Soya Chunks Manchurian |
Soya chunks manchurian goes good with chapati/phulka and with rice items such as garlic rice,ghee rice.
Serves-3
Ingredients
Soya Chunks | 1 cup |
Water | 2 cups to boil soya chunks |
Tomato | 1 |
Capsicum | 1 |
Onion(2) | 1(small)+1(large) |
Green chilly | 2 |
Garlic | 6 to 8 pods |
Ginger | 1 inch |
Salt | 1-2 tsp |
Oil | 1 tbsp |
Soya sauce | 1 tsp |
Chilly powder | 1 tsp |
Coriander leaves | 2 tbsp |
Tomato ketchup | 1 tbsp |
Maida(All purpose flour) | 2 tsp |
Water | 1- 2 tbsp |
Method
- In a vessel add 2 cups of water , 1 tsp salt and add soya chunks and boil for 5-10 minute.
- Strain the water and transfer soya chunks into a cloth and squeeze extra water and keep aside.
- Heat a pan on medium flame, add 1 tbsp oil.
- Add chopped garlic saute for 1 minute.
- Add chopped ginger and mix.
- Add 1 small chopped onion and green chilly saute till onion turns light brown.
- Add 1 big square sized chopped onion and saute till onion turns translucent.
- Add 1 chopped tomato and 1 chopped capsicum.
- Saute till tomato turns mushy.
- Lower the flame and add salt as per taste,1 tsp red chilly powder, 1 tsp soya sauce and mix well.
- Add soya chunks, saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a bowl add 2 tsp of maida and 1 tbsp water mix well and add this slurry to the pan and saute for a minute.
- Add 1 tbsp of tomato ketchup and mix well.
- Add 2 tbsp coriander leaves mix well.
- Close the lid of the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes in low flame.
- Ready to serve.
