Masala Vada

Masala Vada main ingredients are chana dal, curry leaves and coriander leaves.

Serves - 12 to 15 vadas
Watch time - 2 min 32 sec

Ingredients
 Chana dal  3/4th cup
 Onion 1 medium
 Ginger 1 inch
 Curry leaves 2-3 sprig
 Coriander leaves 1 wrist-full
 Green chilly 1 medium
 Salt 1 tsp
 Oil to fry

Method
Note: For instant preparation soak the chana dal in hot water with lid closed for 30 minutes.
For this recipe you should not add water at all.
For good flavor you can add extra 1 onion. 
  1. Soak chana dal for 1 hour.
  2. After an hour, wash chana dal thoroughly and blend roughly without adding any water.
  3. Take a bowl and add in blended chana dal and chopped onion,green chilly,ginger,curry leaves,coriander leaves.
  4. Add 1 tsp salt and mix well.
For frying
  1. Heat oil in a kadai.
  2. Make small dough balls and keep ready.
  3. Once oil starts to heat, take one dough ball in your palm and gently press down. All the side should be equal.
  4. Drop them one by one into oil.
  5. Once bubbling reduces flip them off.
  6. After vada turns golden brown in color remove and place on serving plate.
  7. You can serve this with tomato ketchup or with coconut chutney.
