Mirsangi Bhajo 

Mirsangi Bhajo is big chilly/pepper chilly dipped in gram flour and fried till golden brown.

When I am tempt to eat fried bajjis from Carstreet,Mangalore (Well Known food street in Mangalore especially for fried items) I always make some hot mirchi bajji at home. Tastes great. Yummy Tummy. Can be served as snack or served along with rice as side dish.Tastes great, Do try at your home.
Preparation time - 30 min Serves - 5 people Ingredients Big green chilly - 1/2 kg Salt -1 tsp Gram flour - 3 tbsp Water little as required Kashmiri red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp Oil to fry
Method

  1. 1/2 kg big green chilly.Wash and drain water.
  2. Cut from bottom to top including it's stem.
  3. Use a fork spoon and remove few seeds for less spice.
  4. Transfer to a bowl and add 1/2 tsp salt ,mix well and keep aside.
  5. In another bowl add 1/2 tsp asafoetida paste/powder little water and dissolve the paste.
  6. Add 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilly powder for color.
  7. Add 3 tbsp gram flour. Add little little water and mix. Make semi thick batter.
  8. Consistency should not be runny or too thick. If you have added more water then add gram flour.
  9. Add 1/2 tsp salt and mix well. Add few chilly and give it a good mix.
  10. Dip a chilly in batter, coat well and deep fry.
  11. Here for puffiness chilly you do not need to add baking soda. Puffiness depends on batter.
  12. Flip once it turns golden and Fry till it turns golden brown.
  13. Ready to serve.
