Benda Huli no onion no garlic, easy and quick to make. You can make in 2 ways with dry chilly and with chilly powder. For quick recipe make it with chilly powder.
The ingredients used are byadgi dry chilly, okra and some love😉.
Benda huli recipe is spicy and tangy in taste.
Note:
- Here we have grinded the fried red chilly(byadgi) into fine paste.
- To make using chilly powder always use kashmiri lal chilly powder which is less spice and gives great color to dish. Just soak the chilly powder in water for 5-10 min and proceed with this recipe.
- Adding Tomato is optional(We are adding for thickness).
Ingredients
- Ladies finger - 12 nos.
- Byadgi dry chilly - 4 (less spice)
- Tomato - 1 (optional)
- Coconut oil - 2 tbsp+1 tsp
- Spicy chilly powder - ½ tsp
- Asafoetida powder - ½ tsp
- Tamarind - small piece
- Water for grinding
- Mustard seed - ½ tsp
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Salt as per taste
Method
- Wash and chop the ladies finger into 1 inch.
- In a pan, pour 1 tsp coconut oil and add 4 byadgi chilly. Fry till it puffs up.
- In grinder add those fried red chilly, 1 chopped tomato, small piece tamarind pour little water and grind to fine paste.
- Remove the masala, wash the grinder with little water and keep it aside.
- In a pan, add 2 tbsp coconut oil, ½ tsp mustard seeds, once it splutters add in 1 sprig curry leaves, asafoetida powder ½ tsp , mix well.
- Pour the masala and on low flame close the lid cook till it leaves oil.
- Now on low flame, add in the chopped ladies finger mix well and cook till 80%.
- Pour the masala water(grinder washed water) and cook till ladies finger is soft to touch.
- Ready to serve
