Benda Huli
Benda Huli no onion no garlic, easy and quick to make. You can make in 2 ways with dry chilly and with chilly powder. For quick recipe make it with chilly powder.
The ingredients used are byadgi dry chilly, okra and some love😉.
Benda huli recipe is spicy and tangy in taste.

Note:

  1. Here we have grinded the fried red chilly(byadgi) into fine paste.
  2. To make using chilly powder always use kashmiri lal chilly powder which is less spice and gives great color to dish. Just soak the chilly powder in water for 5-10 min and proceed with this recipe.
  3. Adding Tomato is optional(We are adding for thickness).

Ingredients

  1. Ladies finger - 12 nos.
  2. Byadgi dry chilly - 4 (less spice)
  3. Tomato - 1 (optional)
  4. Coconut oil - 2 tbsp+1 tsp
  5. Spicy chilly powder - ½ tsp 
  6. Asafoetida powder - ½ tsp 
  7. Tamarind - small piece
  8. Water for grinding
  9. Mustard seed - ½ tsp
  10. Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  11. Salt as per taste

Method

  1. Wash and chop the ladies finger into 1 inch.
  2. In a pan, pour 1 tsp coconut oil and add 4 byadgi chilly. Fry till it puffs up.
  3. In grinder add those fried red chilly, 1 chopped tomato, small piece tamarind pour little water and grind to fine paste.
  4. Remove the masala, wash the grinder with little water and keep it aside.
  5. In a pan, add 2 tbsp coconut oil,  ½ tsp mustard seeds, once it splutters add in 1 sprig curry leaves, asafoetida powder ½ tsp , mix well.
  6. Pour the masala and on low flame close the lid cook till it leaves oil.
  7. Now on low flame, add in the chopped ladies finger mix well and cook till 80%.
  8. Pour the masala water(grinder washed water) and cook till ladies finger is soft to touch.
  9. Ready to serve
