Charmuri |
Charmuri, a delightful snack made from puffed rice, holds a special place in the hearts of food lovers across the globe. Traditionally, charmuri is mixed with an array of fresh and flavorful ingredients. Chopped onion, tomatoes, and coriander leaves add a burst of freshness, while roasted peanuts bring a delightful crunch. A sprinkle of chaat masala and a dash of lemon juice elevate the flavors, creating a harmonious blend that dances on the palate.
Serves - 3 people
Ingredients
- Puffed rice preparation ingredients
- Puffed rice - 60 gram
- Kashmiri chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - ½ tsp
- Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
- Vegetable ingredients
- Grated beetroot - 20 gram
- Grated carrot - 20 gram
- Chopped onion - 20 gram
- Chopped tomato - 20 gram
- Grated raw mango - 40 gram
- Lemon juice - 1to2 tbsp
- Minced coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
- Spices ingredients(you can also add sambar powder only)
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Garam masala powder - ¼ tsp
- Chilli powder - ¼ tsp
- Sambar powder - ¼ tsp(optional)
- Salt powder - ¼ tsp
- Roasted peanut - 20 gram
Method
- In a thick bottomed pan add in 60 gram puffed rice, 1 tsp kashmiri chilly powder, ½ tsp salt powder, 2 tbsp coconut oil and mix well.
- On low flame, saute for 3-5 min. Keep aside and allow it to cool down.
- In a vessel add in all vegetable ingredients, spices ingredients and salt powder as mentioned above. Mix well. Add in the puffed rice, roasted peanut and mix well.
- Serve within 5 min to avoid softening of puffed rice.
