Forgotten Delicious Kele Gojju Recipe: Sweet and Tangy Ripe Banana Gojju

Nendran Kele Gojju

This easy and simple recipe uses overripe nendran bananas, which are often discarded when they turn black. Instead of wasting them, you can turn these bananas into a delicious dish like gojju, fry, sweet, or chutney. Perfect as a side dish.

Ingredients

  1. Ripe Nendran Banana - 150 gram
  2. Water - ¼ cup
  3. Salt powder - ¼ tsp
  4. Green chilli - 1 (spicy)
  5. Jaggery - 2 tbsp
  6. Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
  7. Red dry chilli - 1 broken
  8. Curry leaves - 1 sprig

Method

  1. Peel the ripe nendran banana. Chop them into small pieces. Add them in a bowl keep aside.
  2. In a mortar pestle, add 1 green chilli, salt, jaggery. Grind to smooth paste, add little water if required.
  3. Add the paste to chopped banana and mash it well. Add water if required and make semi thick consistency.
  4. Now temper it with ghee, mustard seeds, broken red chilli, curry leaves.
  5. Ready to serve
