How to Make Ambe Gojju: Traditional Sweet Mango Recipe

Ambe Gojju
"Ripe Mango Gojju", a traditional South Indian dish that perfectly balances sweet and spicy flavors. In this easy-to-follow recipe, we'll guide you through the steps to create this delicious mango curry that pairs perfectly with rice.

Serves - 4 to 5

Ingredients

  1. Baby sugar mango - 260 gram
  2. Water - 5 tbsp
  3. Salt powder - ¼ tbsp
  4. Green chilli - 1 
  5. Garlic pods - 2
  6. Coconut oil - 2 to 3 tbsp

Method

  1. Wash and peel the mango. Place the peel and mango in a separate vessel.
  2. Add little water to the peel and mash well with your hands. Squeeze out the water, leave 4-5 peel and discard the rest of the peel.
  3. Add those 4-5 peel, squeezed water, mango together and keep aside.
  4. In a mortar pestle, add salt, green chilli, garlic pods and crush well. Add it with mango and mash well with your hands. Remove the mango pulp and juice out of it squeeze well. Adjust the salt if required.
  5. Now pour few tbsp of coconut oil and mix well. Ready to serve with rice or with rice porridge as side dish.
