Khotambari Palle Goju |
Sweet and sour chutney using coriander leaves, tamarind and jaggery.
My husband is ever nostalgic about this dish as it is same exact recipe of his grandma.
Serves - 3 people
Ingredients
Tamarind | 1 big lemon sized |
Water | 1/4th cup |
Coriander leaves | 1/4th cup |
Green chilly | 1 medium |
Salt | 1/4th tsp |
Oil | 1 tbsp |
Mustard seed | 2 tsp |
Curry leaves | 1 sprig |
Method
Note: Sweet, Sour and Spice depends on individual taste. This recipe gives equal taste of sweet sour and spice.
- Soaked 1 big lemon sized tamarind in 1/4th cup of water.
- Roughly chop 1/4th cup Coriander leaves.
- Roughly 1 green chilly.
- Without adding water Grind/blend Coriander and Green chilly together for a second.
- After a second, add tamarind pulp and grind again.
- Add 1/4th tsp salt, 2 tbsp jaggery and grind to fine paste.
- For this we will add tempering, mustard seeds and curry leaves
- Ready to serve.
