Mango gojju without coconut.

Ambe Gojju is made using brined raw mango. Garlic and green chilly are crushed using a stone crusher and brined raw mango is mashed with it. Traditionally mash the brined mango by hand for authentic taste. Ambe gojju and rice porridge is the best combination that you can have together.

Serves: 6 people

Preparation time: 15 min

Note: For brining use bellari mango, small mango(gointa ambo) or any local mango. Never use agriculture mango(like badami, alponso, kalapadi, tautapuri etc).

Ingredients

  1. Brined raw mango - 1
  2. Green chilly - 1⁄2 (add 1 if chilly not spicy)
  3. Garlic pods - 3
  4. Coconut oil - 1 tbsp
  5. Water - 1⁄2 cup

Method


  1. Wash the brined raw mango 1 or 2 times. (Brining raw mango recipe)
  2. Peel 3 garlic pods and crush them with 1 green chilly.
  3. In a bowl, mash the brined raw mango by hands till soft. 
  4. Again mash them with crushed garlic and green chilly mix well.
  5. Pour coconut oil mix well.
  6. Ready to serve with hot rice porridge.
